For this show I had a special guest, Clayton Counts. He did a live set and a guest dj set for a half an hour. The rest of the time I played material from some of his various projects and we did an interview. We talked about some of his approaches to music, his motives behind the "Beachles" album that got him into some trouble with EMI, garnering him some death threats, his times in Chicago, his court battle with the owner of LAva Lounge, and his various detractors, impersonators, and stalkers. I only wish that I could've played some of the pranks that he has done as a kid on air that he was telling me about, but alas, they are too incriminating.
For more information about Clayton, go to his website claytoncounts.com , where he will be archiving the entire interview, live set and dj set sooner than later. but in the meantime, this man has such a comprehensive knowledge focusing on obscure music (and sharing it) that I don't think anyone reading this would be unamused upon visiting his website. here is his setlist from the DJ portion of the evening:
"Kaffe Matthews - Subwired 1 - A Custom Skylark
Flying Saucer Attack & Roy Montgomery - The Whole Day
Morton Subotnick - Silver Apples of The Moon Part A
Richard Maxfield - Sine Music (Swarm of Butterflies)
Raymond Scott - Cindy Electronium"
